John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has been able to touch many with his songs. A lot of them have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was raised in Roswell New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado. He eventually made his way to Aspen. More than a few people beat a path through Colorado following the Denver's cult tunes for the state he was raised in. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame states that John Denver is unlike any other artist who embodies Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever inductee. Denver is today the international face of Colorado. Through my many travels, I've met a lot of people who are not from Colorado. They will declare, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you're from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career with folk bands, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff was credited with Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the tune, however Denver realized that it could turn into a hit once the song was first heard by him. He recorded it just a few days following performing at Washington D.C. before an large crowd who were very appreciative.
